Gutter stop ends

Gutter stop ends are used to cap the end of a run of guttering, preventing water from escaping. You’ll typically fit them at the outer edge of a roofline or where a gutter connects to a hopper or downpipe. Modern systems use push-fit or clip-on designs for speed and ease of installation. Guttering stop ends are available for all major profiles, including half round and square gutter types. They also come in a range of colours, with black, brown, grey and white being commonly specified for residential jobs.

In traditional setups, especially on older properties, stop ends were often soldered or riveted in place using lead or cast iron. If you're working on a heritage site or period home, you may need to match this older style or material. Today’s plastic alternatives are more common on new-build and retrofit projects, and are selected based on profile compatibility, fall direction, and roof pitch. A square gutter stop end can be used in both left and right-hand configurations depending on the layout of the run.
